Week 1 Session 1

For this first assignment of the semester, I was initially thinking of engaging with an external program that I have some experience with. However, after some consideration, I’ve decided to use Premier Pro as an opportunity to skill up in some new software after having engaged with the initial chapters in LinkedIn Learning.

After completing the relevant chapters, I proceeded to have a look through the various options presented for the first assignment and what sort of alternative narrative I could communicate through each of the pieces. I initially leaned towards making a spoof/comical type of video with “Alice’s Wonderland”, that could utilize repetitive cuts.  Upon further exploration, by listening to the audio of “Violent Earth” and viewing the imagery in “This is Marshall McLuhan” I felt inspired to experiment in creating a surreal and horror esq experience that combines the two elements of audio and visual from the above resources.
