For this class I utilized my time to provide feedback to my peers and reflect upon my own work. I received feedback on my 30 second draft I had initially developed to see if the audience could understand the tone I was aiming for. When looking at my peers works, I took note of their deliberate and creative use of audio when providing feedback so that I could incorporate some elements into my task. One of the key takeaways I realized was that having voiceover could potentially degrade the experience, which helped influence my direction in my final project to utilize music and sound effects to convey the mood. In developing my final project, I wanted to draw imagery on propaganda, and brainwashing before eclipsing in a nuclear bomb. In order to develop these feelings, I utilize matching cuts in order to evoke that sense of discomfort. In my original pitch, I wanted to use still images to convey a sense of normality at the start but found greater success in letting the uncomfortable feeling be developed from the beginning. That way, the finale could be paramount with the rapid change of images, and the gradual audio building paced throughout the video. Ā
