Unfortunately due to the circumstances around COVID-19 it had prevented me from utilizing an opportunity to visit a site. But I had previously attended the National Gallery during the Virtual Reality exhibition. It was an extremely interesting experience, and it honestly helped shape some of the vision I want to pursue in my career. During the virtual reality experience we were able to witness these abstract forms of art that would pull you in and slowly push you forward to these entire worlds made to represent abstract forms. It was my first experience in virtual reality, and it brought me into even more anticipation for what the potential of VR will be in the future. In my Niche Industry assignment, I spoke about my desire and interest in the game industry, and how I want to be a designer who can inspire the people around me. I believe that through my experience in VR at the National Gallery that it opened my eyes to how we could use this beyond gaming. Speaking with one of my tutors, I realized that VR could be incorporated into design thinking, by sculpting objects and being able to use the headset to see how it would look like in a more realistic point of view. I definitely cherish this experience I had, and itās something that helps drive some of my excitement to the potential and evolution of the design industry.
