Networking is something I’ve always enjoyed doing and this short video wasn’t quite as informative for me personally, but I can clearly see how it would be incredibly important for individuals. I’m a naturally extroverted person, and a lot of my mindset has always focused about presentation, engagement, and most importantly being myself. The video reinforced this message further to me, echoing my own personal thoughts and understandings, and upholding the dialogue held in class with the tutors. Though the ideas of utilizing social media and blogging was actually quite useful to me, and this led to me and several other Industrial Design students creating an Instagram group chat where we can connect and keep in touch with one another. It also encouraged me to take advantage of more social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook as well, and follow creators. I realize that through class discussions and this video, that utilizing online platforms and building a strong presentable image on them will be crucial to success in my career long term.
