Week 1 in Review:

In this introductory week to Interaction and User Centric Design I had initially entered with a bit of dread, expecting to be instructed with the task of using coding skills in order to construct websites. I had already taken some reading into what the course would have been like in the leading into the class. I ended up walking out of the class with my future expectations completely challenged, and even my fundamental understanding of what Interaction and User Centric Design is. I learned that the course will equip me with the skills to not just think about Designs for myself, but for target audiences and how to cater to broad design appeal. I’ve already given exploration into the tools to use for my assessment, and what will be the most friendly experience for me as a user, which in turn has made me reflect on just how important the user experience with products will be. I am definitely eager for opportunities to learn about Designing for users, and seeing how that impacts my abilities as a Designer going forward.
